The heart of the system
The Finder module is the heart of Intranet Suite. Essentially it's a dynamic tree list of all of the users, locations and resources that belong to your organisation.
Finder Locations are really all of the sites, departments and teams that are part of your physical organisation- you can recreate them in Intranet Suite and place users in them just as you would in the real world. Arranging your users like this helps them instantly place themselves within the system- they know exactly where to look to find colleagues, and if they don't know they can do a quick search and instantly find who they are looking for.
Once found, each item in the Finder tree has a set of common tasks. To view someone's calendar, for example, just locate them in the tree and click the View Calendar task; Calendar will then conveniently open in a new pane for you to view so you can skip back into Finder and continue where you left off. Also in Finder you can send an Instant Message, view a users shared files and user profile, book resources and many more, in fact any other module that exports functionality will slot seamlessly into Finder, its how we designed it. As we roll out new modules you see why Finder really is at the core of our design philosophy, new tasks simply appear and just work, so no new complex interface to learn as your system grows.
When you use Intranet Suite you'll begin to appreciate the methods that have gone into making it the easiest to use Intranet on the market. You could be viewing a discussion topic, click on a users name and Finder will instantly launch in a new pane, from their you get access to all of the tasks available for that user- all without interrupting your flow in the Discussion Groups module.
Put simply, there really is nothing else like it.
